Oh September!

September has always been a month I look forward to, not just because it's my birthday month (15) but also my hubby's birthday month (17) and our wedding month (civil 17... church 18)...

Now, September would also be the month that Daddy left us and joined his Creator.

Happy Birthday Baby!

Papa Garcia also celebrates his birthday on the same month as I do!
So he would always joke around when my birthday comes because we are of the same age for 2 days before he adds another year to his age.

We usually choose one day to celebrate both our birthdays.
Surprise each other with gifts.
It's so much fun to have the same birthday month.

11 years and counting!

This year, we celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary.
Wow, can't even believe that it has been 11 years since we first started writing our love story together...and I would love to continue writing it til eternity.

To my dear hubby, as I have always said...always remember that
"My LOVE will stand when all else has fallen..."

I love you and Happy Anniversary!

A week after...

"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal,
love leaves a memory no one can steal..."
- Anon

A week has passed since our dear dad joined our creator.
Yet all of us are still struggling to go back to the normalcy of our everyday lives BUT it's just so hard...still can't believe that dad is gone. There is this empty space in my heart that longs to see his smile again and hear him call out my name...

Now all we have are

memories...memories that will forever remain etched in our hearts,
values...values that we will carry on and pass on to our kids and       grandkids...

I don't know when we will recover from this heartache but what I know is that Dad is now in a happier place free of pain and physical suffering...

I love you dad...I will always be your little girl...

Happy Father's Day...

MY DAD, MY Hero

Among my siblings, people would mostly comment that based on features "I am a Timbang " and I took after my dad...and it is true...I am proud to say that I am indeed a daddy's girl.

Growing up, I would always ask his opinion and approval on most of the things in my life...I was afraid of disappointing him. Boys were somewhat afraid to court me because daddy would do a "background check" on them. I remember the day when I introduced my hubby Gilbert to him as my boyfriend, dad had tears in his eyes...it was like I am already getting married or something...hahaha...thinking about it now makes me realize that dads would always be protective over their kids especially their daughters...and of course, who wouldn't be. I believe that they only want to be sure that whoever the lucky man we give our heart to is someone he could entrust his daughters. And I am glad he gave his OK sign...

Today is father's day, and I could go on and on talking about how our dad was a great father to us and how he was a father to my son PAOLO when my hubby is on board the ship to work.
He was my rock...my hero...and I am proud that I am his daughter...I love you dad...

 MY HUBBY, The Superdad

He might not be always around but every moment he spends with the kids is priceless.

He is the good cop in the house while I am the bad cop. When the kids are in trouble, they would always run to him so that they will be protected by the "evil witch"...hahaha

Kidding aside, I am thankful that God gave you to me because without you, I would not have the happiness I have today...I would not have a family...you, Paolo and Paige...you three are my life...
We love you...Happy father's day!

Any man can be a father.
It takes someone special to be a dad.

SIS...Sisters In Singapore

"Sisters are like stars...
you can't always see them
but you know they are there..."
- Anonymous

Meet my sister PRINCESS...
I look more of my dad while she takes more from our mom.

Funny how I would think of all the things we did during our childhood. A complete opposite of me.

I could still remember our "girly sister fights"...pulling each other's hair and then laughing our hearts out after realizing what we are actually doing and fighting about...how we would debate on who the better dancers are, UMD or Street Boys...NKOTB or Backstreet Boys...on who chooses the color pink whenever our mom buys us clothes for Christmas, I would always get the pink stuff while she settles for red.

Being the eldest, I held on to the fact that I should be a role model...to be always perfect in our parent's eyes, afraid to take risks, always asking for our parent's approval...while she was more of the adventurous type...she even had a boyfriend first...hahaha

Now, we would just talk and laugh about this memories. Memories we would surely treasure.

I can't thank her enough for being there for our parents. I am happy that she is there for them while I am away.

I can't thank her enough for being there for my kids. She would readily fly out to Singapore to visit Paolo and Paige whenever she can. I could always count on her whenever I need someone to look after them.

And, I can't thank her enough for being my sister. Amidst all the fights we had, the misunderstandings...we now have a bond stronger than ever.

Love you sis.

Breakfast Date

Wednesday, the midweek.

Made a surprise visit to Hubby's office today and casually invited him for a breakfast date at Starbucks. We had a wonderful time talking without the kids interrupting us and asking for attention.

You see, having a date for both us happens only if we have family who are visiting because we have them to look after the kids...and that is if hubby is in Singapore and not on a ship visit in another country.

Looks like we will be doing this on a weekly basis from now on even for just an hour. It was worth the trip from Paige's school to the business district and back.

Looking forward for our next breakfast date.

35 years of Love and Marriage!

“A wedding anniversary is the celebration of love, trust, partnership,
tolerance and tenacity.
The order varies for any given year.”

Quoted by: Paul Sweeney

35 years of Love and Marriage...Wow!

My mom and dad have always been role models for me to look up to. Be it to their marriage or on how they brought us up.

Whenever I feel down or having a difficult time dealing with the usual "ingredients" of being married, I always think of them...I always think about how they were able to handle their relationship. I know that every marriage is different but having my parents as role models helped me become a mature individual. It helped me become a better wife and mother.

I have a lot to thank my parents for...but the most important is about teaching us the value of family because with it, my siblings and I were able to be strong individuals able to face the world with our heads up because we know that we are anchored in our family' s love.

Thank you Mom and Dad.
Thank you for keeping the love alive between the two of you...

Happy 35th Wedding Anniversary!
We love you!
